The first book giveaway from 'The Key to the Gate'
Originally published in 1937, "They Came Like Swallows" by William Maxwell centers around the Spanish influenza epidemic of 1918 following the end of World War I, and how one small-town Illinois family endures the crisis and tragedy which befalls them.
